HMP Pentonville is a Category B prison located in North London and was constructed in 1816. The prison houses over 1,000 inmates and consists of more than twenty buildings.
BES Consulting Engineers was employed to design new fire alarm and general alarm systems within each building. In addition to local alarm systems, all buildings were networked together to provide alarm annunciation at a central control room. All design work was carried out in accordance with the requirements of BS 5839 : Part 1 : 2002 and Ministry of Justice design guides.
